Our intimate venue is suitable for a wide range of uses including drinks receptions, wine and spirit tastings, pre/post-dinner drinks with friends or colleagues, art exhibitions, seminars and presentations. The interior décor plays homage to some of the greatest mid-century design styles, blending original G Plan furniture, classic Danish teak, floral backdrops, vintage wall art and specially commissioned lampshades.

But why Brazil?  1960's Brazil was a time of revolutionary art and music, which followed half a century of major demographic and social upheaval, including the arrival of many Japanese and European immigrants.  One of the key creative movements in the middle of the 20th century was 'Tropicalia' (aka 'Tropicalismo'), which encompassed music, art and film, celebrating the people and eclectic sub-cultures of Brazil, whilst drawing in influences from musical genres such as bossa nova, west coast psychedelia and pop.

TROPICALISMO seats up to 20 guests, serves only bottles and cans (including pre-batched cocktails) and can be hired exclusively.  Finger food is available through our catering partners and the venue has a complete vinyl setup for DJs and record-selectors.
